The organization exists to enhance and celebrate the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. The ultimate goal is to establish L\u2019ARCHE homes here in the Avalon region such as those that exist in eight other provinces in Canada. In these homes the \u201ccore members\u201d live with their assistants in ways that ensure that everyone is helping and learning from each other.<\/p>\n<p>The other goal of L\u2019Arche Avalon is to establish a community of active members by offering a monthly schedule of events and activities in which they are invited to participate. During this past year many of these scheduled events have been interrupted and restricted by COVID regulations. But for years now there have been regular inclusive activities such as group walks, Spiritual Expressions, monthly gathering, craft mornings and Jam Circles.<\/p>\n<p>Above is a recent photo of some of our members on our monthly walk.
